Seminar for held with ‘Rags to Rugs’

Seminar on Social Entrepreneurship and Peace Building for Underprivileged Youth organized by SEPLAA Foundation under it’s Umeed Jawan project.

Trainer: SANA LAGHARI, Bahawalpur.

Project: Rags to Rugs.

Seminar report:

For this seminar, we decided to go a bit differently so we first went to English medium primary school for girls, where we spent some time with the girls discussing the concept of social entrepreneurship. Although it wasn’t a part of the seminar, the team decided to do it voluntarily to get an idea about the level of awareness on this subject in Bahawalpur and we were amazed to know that those girls were already running some kind of business on small scales.

The team gave them tips to earn in a much better way. They indulged them in an activity of brain storming and after that distributed biscuits to them. The students were very happy and enjoyed the session thoroughly.

We then proceeded to the main focus area called ‘Malook shah’. There we gathered women through a reference and seated them in a suitable place. The trainer gave them lecture about social entrepreneurship and peace building. They all showed interest and were willing to participate.

Activity

Two women were called and told to be the social entrepreneur and to be the employ. The motto was to show loyalty to your owner. Many girls and women participated in it and we got a good response.
